Is it legal to mount train air horns on a truck?

I was wondering if it was legal to mount train horns on a truck as long as you did not go around disturbing the peace with it. If not, is it legal to mount them on a hy-rail truck. No smart aleck answers.

1. I have a set on my truck. I know they are not legal to use on the street because a buddy of mine got a ticket for using them in CA. I use mine in Mexico, where they are needed!
2. I don't know of a _vehicle_ law against it. May be a "disturbing the peace" type thing. If you do it, make sure it's not your "default" horn or the next time your vehicle is inspected you will give the inspector permanent hearing loss.
3. NOt sure about other places, I put on a set for a buddy here in Montana and there was no problems.
4. Like Long-Horns to mount Train Horns is probably not illegal To use them is another matter
