How do you install a car horn?

Ok so here's the deal i tried to go get my license today and my car failed the inspection (due to the lack of a horn). Can I replace the horn an put it in the steering column? or would i have to rout it somewhere else in the car. help plz thanks

1. Just wire a horn up straight to the battery, and install a household lightswitch on your dashboard to activate it. This is what I did on my taxi cab, the inspections for commercial passenger transport are a lot tougher and my car passed inspection.
2. you can just put a button on the dash someplace, run a wire from 1 of the screws on the button to the horn and run another wire from the other screw to the hot post on the battery. when you hit the button it should go beep, beep.
3. First of all check the "horn" to see if it works, take it off of the front of the car or run wires to the horn. Connect it to the battery, 1 wire on the positive, and 1 on the negative. If the horn works then check the fuse it could be blown. If not you probably have a problem in the steering wheel or the wiring to the horn. You could simply place a switch in the car from the battery to the horn. Hope this helps
