does anyone elses bike horn sound pathetic?

someone pulled out in front of me (nothing unusual there) when i hit my horn it just kind of went meeeeeeeeeeeeeepppp-oh-sod-it-plaaaa, not quite the statement i wanted to make, little embarrasing, can i get a horn that goes HHOOOOOOOOOOONNK!! for an SV650s 02?? oh no i like all these answers! the air horn sounds perfect! mixed with a new exhaust.....aawwwww yeah!! Dimo J that is so typical isnt it!!? thanks for all the links everyone, giving me lots of ideas

  2. wen i bought i bike the bike horn was awful too! i'm sure u could get a HOOONNNNKKKKKK horn on ebay or somthing like that?!

Hehe, i know the feeling, today a idiot in a BMW cut me up and i missed the horn accidentally turning the lights on, which was probably still less embarrassing then if i'd actually hit the horn making the high pitched noise. You could probably get it beefed up at your local garage, but if that fails try buying an air horn..
  4. Get a Stebel Nautilus. It's the loudest horn you can buy and the compact version is small enough to fit on a motorcycle.
  5. LOL all Jap bikes have those pathetic horns. Simply rev your bike close to 10K RPM to let them know your displeasure. A quality racing exhaust is the best horn you can buy ;)
  6. The Valkyrie probably comes with the most anemic horn. I replaced mine with a Stebel small truck horn. Freeway Blasters are pretty good too.
  7. dont bother using your horn just drive really close up there ass that works better than a horn anyway
  8. I replaced my stock "meeeeeeeeeeeeeepppp" horn with a pair (hi-tone/low-tone) 138 db "highway blaster" car horns. Connected with a 10 gauge wire through a horn relay directly to the battery. Sounds like a Caddy or Big Buick. So I'm riding along, lady starts to slide sideways into my lane. I nail the horns, she jumps back into her lane, looking around for the big car that almost hit her. She sees it was just me on the little cruiser, pulls into my lane.
  9. Try these on for size. Just make sure you can brake when they have the heart attack thinking an 18 wheeler is coming. Both air and electric to choose from.
  10. Why oh why are such whimpy horns installed on motorcycles? Fortunately, excellent horns are stock on my Honda Goldwing. Not so on my Kawasaki KLR 650. See article below regarding aftermarket horns. Good Luck
