Why does my car horn honk when I lock doors using key chain lock?
This is something I have always wondered about. You know those keychain lock things that come with newer vehicles?? When I hit the lock button once, I hear the doors lock. If I push the button again, the car horn honks. Why is this? Is it activating the anti-theft devce? Is it just telling me that the doors are already locked??? I'm just curous. Anyone know why this is??

- Yes it is activating the anti-theft on your vehicle or both
- Most likely setting an anti theft device. Check your owners manual for details
- Its to let you know that your door are actually locked. Like if your walking away and not sure if you pushed the button or not. And to find your car in a Walmart parking lot.
- As said, it is to let you know that your alarm has been activated. There should be a small switch under your dash that you can throw if you want to deactivate the alarm.
- its normal, your car is safety for carnapers
