What horn will work on my bike?
I have an 86 Honda Nighthawk CB450SC and the horn sucks on it. I can get one little toot and that's it. I was looking for one on eBay, and a guy told me to get one from a GL1000, that it was compatible and about 10x louder. Is that true? If so, what other horns will work in case I can't find a GL1000?

- the roadstar horn(s) from yamaha, or a motorcycle ait horn kit http://www.jcwhitney.com/Motorcycle-Horns/600014759.jcw?ysmwa=tOODy0kA57O1aSyX91lMx-j2xFMGCHi--GLK11DH15CTMTzLldgLP8Olj0SX3imB or motorcycle bar horns http://www.bjspecialties.com/ understand, that any 12volt horn CAN work, just make sure the switch can take the amps or you get a kit that puts a relay in so your protected.
- any 12 volt horn,, or air horns (that's whats on my bike).. but you must fit a relay because the switches on the jap bikes don't carry much current..
- easygoing is right on. Any 12 volt horn. Go to the auto parts store and look at what's on the shelf. Your bike horn is similar to what they sell as a "high" tone. You will also notice a "low" tone. Most American cars use both in a set of two. There will also be air horns, with small compressors. They work well too. One of my favorite old stories was about a truck climbing the sidewalk instead of cutting me off. Courtesy of an air horn mounted on my Suzuki. BTW, the Goldwing horn will NOT be ten times louder. They all run about the same. Yours is just old. Might be sticking, cruddy inside.
- All 12 V horns will work, the problem is finding a place to hang them since most are larger than your stock horn. Look around at the auto parts or mc accessory store for "Freeway Blasters", which are pretty loud dual auto type horns. http://k53.pbase.com/g6/41/9841/2/82196684.WgmmEgBJ.jpg If you have a pretty large area to work with, try the Stebel "Nautilus" air horn. I have one on my Honda Valkyrie. Its very loud. Ran me about $60. http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~tangram/trike/stebel-nautilus-horn.jpg
